David Hilozitz has teamed up with Venus Theory to release Bitscape 95, a library of retro sounds for Decent Sampler, available at the intro price of $20.0, increasing to $40.00 after the promotion. There’s also a FREE ‘taster’ version to download.
Bitscape 95 was born with a series of experiments using a toy from the 90s.
The Yak Bak is a small, handheld device that records and plays snippets of audio. As we were working with it, we found that it had a distinctive, characterful sound that leant itself quite nicely to sound design. So we recorded a whole host of source signals – from cello to mandolin to analog synths – and then processed those signals through our favorite outboard effects. The result is a brand new sample library called Bitscape 95.
The library consists of 83 unique, retro-futuristic sounds, which run the gamut from highly cinematic pads to classic 90s-style synth keys. Perfect for adding a touch of nostalgia to your music, or for creating something completely new and unique. By the way, we also made videos related to the experiments both of which I think are a lot of fun.
