HISSandaROAR have released FX024 UI SNIP, available at the intro price of $19.00, increasing to $29.00 after the promotion.
This is a new collection of User Interface sounds, following on from the organic UI sounds in FX011 BLOCKS & BONES CLAVES & STONES but this time focusing on the clicks of household & garden tools.
HissandaROAR were using a pair of kitchen tongs and started thinking about how they are essentially a little clapperboard. Every time they are shut quickly, they produce a characterful little click and to test out how useful a variety might be, HISSandaROAR collected as many similar devives as they could find and had a play. The range of clicks is really interesting, and unique to each tool. So HISSandaROAR started with scissors, ranging in size from vintage heavy duty tailors scissors, then a few office scissors and then kids toy scissors. HISSandaROAR added a few types of tongs, then recorded clips – spring paper clips, dark room print clips, dark room squeegee clips, plastic clips and heavy duty clips as well as 2 carabinas. Next was 4 different garden seqateurs, 3 garden shears and a branch lopper. Then two sets of vice grips, tin snips and a pair of pliers.
The result is a collection of short duration characterful ‘real’ UI clicks, each with approximately 10 takes for variety and round robin use.
Recorded 32bit 192kHz using Sanken CUX100K and Sennheiser MKH8050, this new library is released 24bit 96kHz with full UCS metadata and photos.
