Plughugger have released Coffee – Espresso Edition, available at the intro price of €9.90, increasing to €24.90 after the promotion. The offer ends August 4th. There’s also a FREE version to download and use.
This collection is a celebration of Plughugger’s passion for coffee.
One day by accident, Plughugger noticed that the electric field surrounding our coffee machine sounded a pounding rave for ants. Thus began their journey into recording not just the coffee machine itself, but all accessories around it. The cups, the beans, the canister, measuring spoons, the electric fields (recorded with two different devices) plus a handful of highly processed waveforms based on the samples.
This soundset comes in two variations:
Coffee Free Edition.
This is the basic & free soundset with samples based on a Philips Easy Cappuccino coffee maker. Sounds of the machine warming up, brewing and grinding. We also recorded a handful of hits with us striking the metallic drip tray with different objects. This soundset is much smaller but is entirely FREE.
Coffee Espresso Edition.
This is the expanded deluxe soundset with all the samples and sounds from the free collection, but contains a large number of additional samples and presets, such as electric fields (recorded by SOMA Ether and LOM microphones), morphed waveforms, ceramic cups, canisters for ground coffee, spoons, bags of beans, and a separate bean grinder of a really cheap brand.
The style of the soundset is mainly cinematic with massive hits, scary textures and percussive sequences, but it covers a wide scope of genres. It’s mellow ambient, it’s pop with edgy bass sounds, it even at times touches on the dystopian techno sound of The Future Sound of London.
