This is a Class A discrete compressor inspired by classic designs, known for its smooth, musical compression and rich analog character. It features transformer-balanced input and output stages and utilizes a diode bridge topology, delivering a warm, vintage sound often associated with iconic British consoles. A specific modification introduced by a renowned mastering studio enhances this compressor’s versatility, particularly for mastering and bus compression applications.
What It’s Good On:
- Vocals: Adds warmth and presence, smoothing out dynamics while retaining clarity and emotional impact.
- Drum Buses: Excellent for gluing drum elements together while adding punch and fullness.
