Sonuscore have released LUX Orchestral Strings, available for €499.00.
LUX Orchestral Strings is unlike any product we have ever made. From the very beginning we set out to create something that felt as close as possible to standing on the scoring stage. Our most ambitious library to date, designed so that composers can be even more ambitious with their music.
LUX Orchestral Strings is not just another string library. It is a 70-piece symphonic string ensemble, recorded on a large scoring stage with unprecedented realism, warmth and scale. It puts you right in the room with the orchestra.
LUX Orchestral Strings was created with a composer’s workflow in mind. We crafted the sound and developed unique techniques to deliver the most natural playing and composing experience. Switch effortlessly between articulation sets tailored to different styles and keep your creativity flowing. Discover a sound so authentic, it feels like you’re standing right in the heart of the orchestra.
In most libraries, articulation changes sound like separate recordings, not a continuous performance. Real musicians play differently – they flow naturally from one technique to another. A sustained note becomes a tremolo simply by increasing bow speed, without any break or restart.
S.A.T. brings that fluid motion to LUX. Move between articulations while holding a note, letting phrases evolve with the natural expressiveness of real performance. A gentle key switch creates a gradual shift, a stronger one a quick change – giving you true instrumental flow at your fingertips.
LUX Orchestral Strings is huge, not a small chamber group, not a cut-down studio section, but a full 70-piece symphonic string ensemble recorded with the size and power that defined the golden age of Hollywood film scores.
It delivers the perfect balance for modern scoring: bigger and richer than smaller 30 – 40 player sections, yet more detailed and versatile than oversized 90+ ensembles. It captures the cinematic weight of world-class film recordings while retaining clarity, flexibility, and expressive nuance. Ideal for any professional composer.
It includes 48 microphones in total, with 26 for main capture and 22 bleed microphones to capture the natural resonance of a full orchestral recording setup.
LUX Orchestral Strings offers morphing articulations, allowing users to blend between articulations in real-time using the mod wheel for dynamic and evolving performances.
Composer-crafted ensembles with different voicing combinations are included, providing instant inspiration and facilitating quick sketching of melodies and rhythms.
The library incorporates Natural String Change Legato technology, which detects string changes and allows the previous note to breathe, enhancing the realism of legato passages.
LUX Orchestral Strings is engineered by award-winning film mixer Peter Fuchs, recorded with top-tier microphones, and offers dedicated key switch sets tailored to specific scoring needs, making it ideal for professional composers.
