What’s new in version 8.16:
- New Analog Oscillator Engine – The new engine delivers warm, analog modeled character with richer harmonic content, especially in the bass range. Real-time discontinuity correction ensures clean hard sync and FM synthesis. The classic engine remains available via a per-bank global switch for full backward compatibility.
- Polyphonic Aftertouch & Adaptive Filter Slope – Polyphonic Aftertouch adds per-voice pressure routing for individual note expression and MPE-ready workflows. The new Adaptive Filter Slope dynamically switches filter character based on note and velocity, extending to SEM and Phaser filters with adaptive tap count (4/8/12 taps).
- Gate & Mod Gate Sequencer Overhaul – The sequencers now support four independent playback modes — Normal, Trigger, Free Running, and One Shot — plus custom speed entry (0.1x–4.0x), step rotation via Shift+drag, individual randomization algorithms, and persistent effects tab memory. Per-Sequencer Randomization includes Oscillator Shape, Rhythmic, and Sample and Hold algorithms.
- Per-Sample Parameter Smoothing – Smoothing is now applied to pulse width, oscillator mix, filter resonance, filter envelope amount, mod envelope amount, and wave osc level, eliminating zipper noise during modulation.
- More in 8.16 – Folder support for the preset system with subfolder organization. Analog-modeled soft limiter on standalone output. Hard sync correction. Expanded bypass controls for LFO, Mod Envelope, Panning, Delay, and Gate. LCD status display for CPU protection state.
