Haake Music Release Drone Pad

Haake Music have released Drone Pad, a web based app. Drone Pad is being developed for other platforms including iOS.

Drone Pad is your personal Intonation assistant, a pitch-pure drone synthesizer for musicians who depend on precise intonation — and for everyone who experiences sound as meditation.

Drone Pad generates one or more sustained reference tones — in equal or just intonation — with a fully customizable sound profile.

  • 16 Intervals – From root to perfect twelfth — each individually switchable, with its own volume and waveform.
  • Unison & Detune – Up to 7 oscillators per voice with continuous detune create a rich, vibrating pad foundation.
  • LFO & Reverb – Amplitude modulation with a visualized LFO and atmospheric reverb — for living, breathing drones.
  • Filter & Attack – Lowpass filter with resonance and soft attack envelope shape the sound from warm to cutting.
  • Just Intonation – Switch between equal temperament and just intonation — and hear the difference immediately.
  • 10 Themes – Dark and light color schemes — from black to pastel. Easy on the eyes during long sessions.

From root to perfect twelfth — each individually switchable, with its own volume and waveform.

Most drone apps deliver a simple sustained tone. Drone Pad does something fundamentally different — through four technical properties that together create a sound that breathes, vibrates, and unfolds.

  • Individual phase offset per voice – At startup, each voice receives a random LFO phase offset. Root, fifth, and octave never oscillate in sync — the result is an organically breathing ensemble, not mechanical pumping.
  • Shifting dynamics through independent modulation – The LFO modulates all active voices simultaneously but offset. The volume ratio between tones constantly changes — like string players in an ensemble who never breathe exactly alike. The sound becomes three-dimensional.
  • Natural beating from unison detune – Up to 7 oscillators per voice with distributed detune generate acoustic beating frequencies — not through effects, but through physics. The sound fills the room without being intrusive.
  • Real room sound — synthetically computed – The reverb is not drawn from sampled spaces but computed live as a convolver from synthetic noise with a decay curve. The room is created in the moment — and its size and mix can be shaped in real time.

Anyone without frets, valve stops, or fixed pitch must hear and feel intonation. Drone Pad provides the exact reference tone — continuously, pitch-pure, without interference.

With active LFO, living unison, and synthetic reverb, a sound space emerges that constantly shifts in subtle ways — never repeating, never freezing.

Drone Pad runs directly in the browser — no installation needed. A native Mac app is also available for Apple Silicon and Intel. More platforms coming soon.
