Birdsong Release DAWN

Birdsong have released DAWN, available for $34.00.

DAWN is a multi-voice detune borrowed from the synth world, built for yours. Double vocals. Warp keys. Built with animator alec.fbx. Simple enough to reach for every session. Beautiful enough to show off.

While “Songbird” was also the name of a famous open-source media player from the late 2000s, this DAWN is part of a modern suite of tools designed for the next generation of digital performance and immersive media.

Features include:

  • Web-Based Interaction: DAWN is built to run directly in the browser, allowing users to engage with high-quality audio and visual experiences without needing to download specialized software.
  • Real-Time Collaboration: It is designed for “social listening” and collaborative music creation, where multiple users can influence a soundscape simultaneously.
  • Generative Audio: Unlike a standard MP3 player, DAWN often utilizes generative systems—meaning the music can evolve and change based on user input or external data rather than just playing a static loop.
  • Integration with WebGL: It frequently pairs audio with complex 3D visuals (using WebGL) to create a “synesthetic” experience where the visuals react frame-by-frame to the audio frequencies.

DAWN is available to PC and Mac users, (VST, AU and AAX).
