Cem Olcay will soon be unleashing his latest creation ‘In Theory – Interval Keyboard’, an adaptation of Eventide’s Misha eurorack module. There’s no information on pricing and availability at the moment.
Choose a key and scale, then the keypad menu on the bottom will go through the scale notes. 0 is the current note, +1 is the note after the current note, -1 is the note before the current note, +3 is the 3 notes after the current note in the scale.
The chord interval section in the middle will play the additional notes you choose. You may choose the notes from the current octave, an octave below and an octave above, and create chord voices.
You can play with a MIDI keyboard as well. The C4 note is the 0-button on the keypad. White notes after C4 is the positive values, the white notes before C4 is the negative values just like the on-board keypad on the app.
You can toggle chord intervals with MIDI CC. From CC value 0 to 62, you can toggle the buttons on the interface.
With MIDI CC and MIDI keyboard support, you can also use sequencer apps like ShiftBud, PolyBud etc. to sequence In Theory app.
You can set the keypad range, octave range and MIDI CC/Channel configuration in the settings menu.
