Amethyst 4 is a high-performance channel strip giving you the warm sound of some celebrated British consoles from the late 70s and early 80s.
Amethyst channel strip includes three sections: a preamp, an equalizer plus filters, and a dynamic processor.
Each of these sections is also available as a single plugin for extended versatility. The filter section integrates 2 filter sets (A-B mode). In addition to equalizer A, the EQ section includes a new emulation (B). The new EQ’s circuitry is based on a famous British design that will give you that unmistakably “expensive” sound. Besides offering a brand new set of equalization curves, EQ B features 2 controls: GLOWY for the LF section and SHINY for the HF section. These controls allow you to change the low and high-shelf cells’ slope, thus altering the overall tonal balance of the sound without changing its character.
Amethyst is based on a mixing desk that was critically acclaimed as one of the greatest-sounding consoles of all time.
