Heritage Audio Release BritStrip

Heritage Audio have released a native version of BritStrip, available for €99.00.

Introducing the Heritage Audio BritStrip plugin, now available in native form. A true recreation of Heritage Audio’s very own BritStrip console channel strip, a modern classic in thousands of studios around the World.

The BritStrip combines an expanded 73 style equalizer and the famous diode bridge compressor from Heritage Audio’s popular successor.

The impact of the BritStrip EQ is hard to believe with extreme boosts being surprisingly musical. The mid band is great for sculpting fat and punchy snares, kicks, guitars and vocals. No need to be subtle as you would with most equalizers, the BritStrip won’t sound phasey or compromise your signal even at extreme settings.

The Class-A high-pass filter, lets you remove any excess low end without affecting the quality of the rest of the signal. The high and low shelves also include a bell mode making them very useful for defining your sounds.

This powerful diode bridge modeled compressor design is perfect to use for tracking, providing a thick, solid, punchy sound, with thorough dynamic control, a “BLEND” function that permits getting the perfect balance between the original signal and the compressed signal as well as its sidechain filter allowing you to focus the compression on specific frequencies. This gives you plenty of tracking potential, as you can give instruments that “record-ready” vibe as performers monitor – so they can hear a finished “real-time feel” as they perform.

The BritStrip allows for flexible internal routing. Equalizing pre-compression makes the compression detector more sensitive to the boosted frequencies and less sensitive to those cut. Inversely, equalizing post compression makes the detector insensitive to the EQ settings.

When Heritage Audio first designed the BritStrip plugin it was the perfect match for our i73 PRO line of interfaces as it pairs seamlessly with its 73 style analog preamps. But once people started to take the native plugin for a spin, they saw the potential the BritStrip has on its own. So the only question left was… Is the BritStrip a BritStrip without Heritage Audio’s signature 73 style preamp? The answer is…we don’t know…you tell us!

So in order not to have to answer this question, we have, for the first time ever, modeled our praised 73 style preamp into a second version of the BritStrip so you can decide wether you want to use the current lighter BritStrip without the preamp or the full version with our signature 73 style preamp modeled to perfection.

BritStrip is available to PC and Mac users and requires an iLok account.
