VS is a visual synthesizer that uses the architecture of a traditional music synthesizer, such as voices, layers, LFOs, and modulation, but applies it to visual output, transforming audio or MIDI input into real-time pixel-based visuals.
The software allows users to feed it audio or MIDI data, with every parameter capable of responding in real-time, and it can operate as a standalone application, a plugin within a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW), or on mobile devices like iPad and Android.
VS features eight blendable layers, each supporting up to four polyphonic visual voices, and comes with nearly 60 factory shaders, over 60 presets, and a built-in editor for creating custom shaders.
It supports a variety of visual sources for each layer, including shaders, audio visualizers, oscilloscopes, user-provided images and videos, text, and live camera feeds, with the ability to create feedback loops.
The instrument is highly reactive to both audio and MIDI inputs, with frequency bands, peaks, envelopes, notes, and CC messages able to control virtually any parameter, and it includes four LFOs, two MIDI-fired envelopes, and a comprehensive modulation matrix.
VS is designed for various workflows, including live performance, music production within DAWs, streaming and VJing, and generative art installations, offering output up to 4K resolution at 60 frames per second and supporting NDI, Spout, and Syphon.
VS is available to Desktop, iOS and Android users (VSY2, VST3, AU, AUv3 and standalone).
