Elastic Melody, Elastic FX & Elastic OSC Are On Offer

Oliver Greschke has reduced the price of some of his apps for a limited time. Elastic Melody and Elastic OSC are available for $12.99, (usually $14.99 each). Elastic FX is now $8.99, (usually $9.99).

Elastic Melody

Elastic Melody is a standalone Mac Application and AUv3 plugin with 3 channels of synthetic sounds, an analog style step sequencer and 4 master effects. Almost all parameters can be automated and thus changed in an „elastic way“. The focus of Elastic Melody is on a fast and intuitive creation of melodies with a basic analog sound.

Elastic Melody comes with a bunch of presets from well-known sound designers of the iOS scene, like “Sound of Izrael”, “Red Sky Lullaby”, “Nu-Trix”, “JaKob Haq” and others.

Features include:

  • Synthesizer / Sequencer
    • 3 channels, each with an analog synthesizer that is connected to an associated sequencer
    • Each sequencer channel has its own start/end and timing parameters for notes and automation
    • 14 parameters per synth engine (waveform, lowpass, highpass, env, etc.)
    • For each parameter, value changes can be drawn in an automation window
    • Solo or mute function for the 3 synth channels
    • Song Mode: Create easily longer sequences with setting pattern repeat and duplicating and altering a pattern
  • Master FX
    • 4 master effects (EQ, Chorus, Delay, Reverb)
    • Automation for most parameters of the effects
    • Each FX effect has its own start/end and timing parameters for automation
  • Song Mode
    • Arrange several Pattern to a longer sequence … a Song
    • Repeat count for Song Elements/Pattern
    • Duplicate/Rename/Delete function for Pattern and Song Elements
  • Functions
    • Undo/Redo
    • Various randomise functions
    • Option to share and import presets
    • Copy function to copy Sound, Notes or Automation data to another track
    • Midi Input: Select your Midi Input source and the track that should receive Midi Notes
    • Midi Output: Select where track Notes should get routed to
    • AUv3 support
    • Ableton Link support

Elastic OSC

Elastic OSC is a playful synthesizer with multiple oscillator modes!

Elastic OSC is a synthesizer app based on the DSP code of the Mutable Instruments Plaits  hardware oscillator module (generously made open-source by MI mastermind Emilie Gillet), one of the most beloved (and cloned) oscillator module in the Eurorack modular scene!

Like the original, Elastic OSC comes with a wide variety of possible sounds, from analog-style, FM, and additive sounds to physical modeling, percussive, to even drum sounds.

While Plaits is monophonic, Elastic OSC can also be used in 8-voice polyphonic mode. This means you can use it either as a sophisticated, experimental monophonic sound source — like the original — or as a regular polyphonic keyboard with a wide variety of great sounds. Of course, you can also combine both approaches!

You can play the app using the on-screen keyboard, or via an external keyboard / sequencer — whether it’s a DAW like AUM, Cubasis, Logic (using Elastic OSC as an AUv3 plugin), or external hardware.

The first release of Elastic OSC is for the iOS platform, available as a standalone iOS app or an AUv3 plugin.

Elastic OSC is designed for playability and simplicity – much like the Plaits hardware, which uses just four main knobs to control all essential synth parameters. In Elastic OSC, these four core parameters are mapped to an XY pad, allowing for quick and intuitive sound tweaking, while a second XY pad offers direct control over the built-in effects.

Elastic OSC is essentially a one-screen app with no menu diving. Despite its clean and minimal interface, the sonic possibilities are vast: under the surface lie 24 different oscillator models and full parameter automation – as you know from other Elastic apps.

A versatile Arpeggiator makes it easy to start with simple ideas or can already create entire sonic worlds.

Elastic OSC includes an integrated help system (tap “?”) to provide explanations for nearly every GUI element, the underlying DSP model, and most of the app’s functionality.

Features include:

  • Synthesizer
    • 24 Different Sound Engines from MI Plaits DSP code
    • 4 Main parameters per synth engine (Frequency, Harmonics, Morph, Harmo)
    • Recordable Modulations/Automations for almost all Parameters with a length of 1, 2 or 4 beats.
    • ADSR Envelope for Amplifier
    • LPG Envelope for Modulations of Timbre, FM, Harmonics
    • Adjustable Velocity effect on Volume and/or LPG Modulation
  • Arpeggialator
    • With different Arp Modes, Rates, Octave Ranges and Skip Notes functionality
  • Master FX
    • 5 Effects (5 different Overdrive/Distortions, Hi-Low-Filter, Chorus/Flanger, Delay, Reverb)
    • Automations for all effects parameters
    • Master Gain and switchable Limiter effect

Elastic FX

EFX is a 4 channels multi-effect processor, that’s easy and intuitive to play, but offers complex options to shape the sound and to route the audio effects stream.

Connect EFX to any input source, like the devices built in microphone, an external keyboard or guitar (iPad soundcard needed) or to your favorite iOS drum machine or synthesizer via Inter-App Audio or Audiobus. Or import a soundfile into the app and alienate it with with up to 4 different effects at the same time!

Features include:

  • Multi-effect app created by the developers of Elastic Drums
  • 4 effect units with different routing options
  • Choose one of 40 available stereo effects in each effect unit
  • Broad range of different effects of the following categories: Modulation, Pitch, Distortion, Filter, Delay, Reverb, Others
  • Additional master effect section with level meters, 3 band equalizer, compressor, stutter fx
  • XY-Pad to easily control the most important effect values (Kaoss Pad style)
  • Possibility to automate/record the XY-Pad tweaks (1,2,4,8,16 bars length)
  • Automated tweaks and some effects (PingPong Delay) get played in sync via Ableton Link/Inter-App Audio
  • Audiobus 3 support
  • Audiobus state save
  • Audiobus remote control
  • Inter-App Audio support
  • Simple audio player to test the effects with audiofiles
  • Tweak the most important parameters via Midi, Midi learn option
  • Switch user-presets with Midi Program Change messages
  • Save, load and share user presets
