Dive into the ocean of ’90s compression and get your tracks dripping wet! With Shy 90s Dynamix, you can mangle your stems into compression juice—or inject that infamous French house groove into your loops.
Comp/Limit
The powerhouse core. A custom multi-envelope engine recreates that signature 90s snappy, groove-heavy compression — especially with deep threshold settings.
- Ultra-fast attack shapes punchy transients or slams your signal completely
- External SC input for rhythmic pumping or choppy gating
- Link ties both channels to one control signal — or switch it off for a looser, wider stereo image
- Crank the Make Up for heavy saturation — softclips the signal while adding aggressive gain
Modes
Shape the entire character of the compressor — Switch between soft or hard knee, RMS with adaptive timing, or full-on limiting.
- RMS mode tracks your audio with program-dependent timing — perfect for bass
- Limit transforms the unit into a snappy limiter for “true squeeze”
- Hit “Bam!” to engage a highpass filter on the internal sidechain — letting your low-end breathe while everything else gets smashed
Gate/Output
The final part of the chain is the Gate/Output module — where transients get chopped or let through with precision, and the blend between processed and clean is dialed in. Finish it off with a clean output stage.
- Gate with adjustable trigger and decay — from subtle shaping to full-on sidechain chopping
- Phase-aligned Wet/Dry mix lets you blend grit and clarity, even after gating
- Big old-school meters show GR and output clearly, so you always see what you smash
