“What is that thing??” is the reaction most people have when encountering their first talkbox performance. Invented in 1939 and then known as a “throat microphone”, the talkbox has gone on to become a staple in modern music, with musicians like Stevie Wonder, Peter Frampton, and Jeff Beck using it to create extremely unique melodic hooks and effects.
To produce our first-ever talkbox library, we partnered with LA-based artist and talkbox wizard, Steve “Swatty” Watkins. The result? Swatkins Talkbox Vol 1, a loop and sample collection truly like no other.
Organized into 3 main categories: “Chords”, “EFX” and “Loops”, this library features performances in all 12 keys and in a wide range of tempos and feels, ensuring you’ll find the perfect sample or loop for your own production.

Steve Watkins (Swatkins) is a ginger-bearded smiley keyboard guy. His music generally sounds like a good time. This exceedingly positive individual is a songwriter, producer, singer, multi-instrumentalist, and a master of the talkbox, an old-school analog effect using his larynx and a vinyl tube to shape the sound of his keyboard.
