Icky Bass is a digital instrument inspired by the White Stripes’ album ‘Icky Thump,’ featuring a rare Fender Rhodes Piano Bass processed through Jack White’s signature ‘Knife Drop’ fuzz pedal.
The Fender Rhodes Piano Bass, originally conceived by Harold Rhodes in 1960 as a portable electric keyboard for bass lines, possessed a unique, tight, and percussive tone, famously utilized by Ray Manzarek of The Doors for his distinctive playing style.
This rare and collectible instrument, when fed through the aggressive, sub-octave generating ‘Knife Drop’ fuzz pedal and recorded through a Neve 1073 DI, offers users a grimy, monstrous sound with intuitive controls for various effects like AUTOWAH, CHORUS, PHASER, and REVERB.
