Gospel Musicians have reduced the price of BlueBeast, TGX-99/77 & TGX-85 for a limited time, each now available for $9.99, (usually $19.99).
BlueBeast
Released in 1998, this was the first synthesizer Jamal from Gospel Musicians actually fell in love with. The EX5 was way beyond its time as it featured Analog Modeling, Virtual Acoustic Modeling, FDSP multi-Synthesis Modeling and of course sample playback. With a mixture of all of these sound synthesis techniques, the EX5 was literally a Blue Beast. Gospel Musicians were not able to capture all of the virtual modeling, but what there were able to capture was the warmth, phatness, and essence of the machine. Gospel Musicians were also able to convert the analog waveforms into our own Phat Table format to capture all of the analog goodness of the VL technology.
What you get in this virtual instrument is a beautifully sampled nostalgic representation in the spirit of the EX5. This is by far the most exhaustive and meticulously sampled EX5 virtual instrument, and is the closest you will ever get to the real thing.
TGX-99/77
eleased in 1991 this one is probably Gospel Musicians’ second favorite synthesizer next to the EX5. The thing that made this synth amazing was it’s AFM (Advanced FM Technology). Not only could it read the DX7 patches, but the enhanced AFM allowed for even better FM EPs with a ton of expression.
The other thing you will recognize from this synth is it’s incredible A/D converters which really make the synthesizer sound warm and phat. You can still hear the digital edge, but it’s mixed with a warm analog tone that made all of the patches just sound professional and organic.
TGX-85
Released in 1992, this keyboard has some of the best sounding pads, synths, strings, and leads of any synth around at the time and can rival newer synths today. You will immediately recognize the lushness in the sound and Gospel Musicians made sure to capture all of it in this library! Furthermore, with Gospel Musicians’ modern synthesis in their Pure Synth architecture, they are able to expand the sound capabilities far past what the hardware offers. For example, Gospel Musicians have a sophisticated monophonic/glide mode that is not present in the hardware. Gospel Musicians’ effects are also modern and you are able to use multiple chains which were limiting on the hardware. All-in-all you will get the full SY-85 experience no matter which platform you choose (Pure Synth Expansion or Standalone UI).
