Luftrum & Plughugger have released Symbiotic, available for $39.00.
Symbiotic is a new collaborative soundset series for Omnisphere 3, uniting sound designers with a shared passion for electronic and ambient music, atmospheric soundscapes, and the art of creating immersive sonic spaces.
For the first volume, I invited my friend Carl Löfgren, better known as Plughugger, to join me. Carl’s signature touch blends naturally with my own approach, resulting in an Omnisphere library that carries a distinctly Scandinavian ambient atmosphere. With Carl being from Sweden and myself from Denmark, Symbiotic Volume 1 feels rooted in the landscapes and moods of the North.
The soundset contains 100 presets in total, with 60 presets by Luftrum, 25 presets by Plughugger and 15 multis. The sounds drift between ambient, liminal, and electronic territories. Inside you will find expressive poly synths, long and slow-evolving pads, organic and natural textures, delicate split-key performances along with melodic sequences and arpeggios. While Symbiotic is packed with versatile presets you will reach for again and again, it also ventures beyond the expected with sounds driven by curiosity, creativity, and character – distinctive presets that add their own personality to the collection.
The inspirations behind the soundset are many and varied, drawing from artists such as Biosphere, Boards of Canada, Vangelis, Brian Eno, Ørneheart, Loscil, Ishq, Röyksopp and Jon Hopkins, while maintaining its own identity and voice.
Symbiotic Volume 1 also includes a bonus: Symbiotic Volume 1 Mutations, a separate set of 40 selected mutations, created using Omnisphere 3’s new Mutation feature. We generated hundreds of variants from the core presets, then curated the best ones into this extra collection.
Installation is easy – simply drag and drop the soundset to the Omnisphere 3 interface and all presets, including external sound sources and Multis, is installed automatically.
Symbiotic requires Omnisphere 3 (not included).
